To be admitted to the Master Course in Geoengineering (GEM), it is required a first cycle or a single cycle degree awarded by an Italian or a foreign University, that allows the continuation of studies to the next level. In addition, applying students have to retain the general educational requirements and possess an adequate personal education background, certified by a specific authorization (nulla osta) issued by the Teaching Committee of the Geoengineering master's degree.

How to get the authorisation (nulla-osta):

• Canditates holding a Bachelor's degree awarded in Italy
• Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree awarded outside Italy

Once the authorisation (nulla-osta) has been obtained, the enrollment must be completed according to the instructions provided by the University's relevant offices.

It is recommended to submit it at least 30 days before the deadline, in order to allow the process to be completed in time.

NEW!  Starting from next Academic Year 2025/26, in a framework of balancing studies, the Course will still offer a single address but structured in two pathways, to provide supplementary knowledge to personal preparation derived from previous careers. The pathway for engineers will provide compensatory knowledge mainly in the field of geological disciplines. The pathway for geologists will provide compensatory knowledge mainly in the field of engineering disciplines. The two pathways may differ by 18 ETCS at most (please check the page Study Programme for more info).

Deadlines A.Y. 2026/27
1st July 2026 Opening of online procedures for enrollment applications.	18 December 2026 Ordinary deadline for incoming students. Late enrollment is allowed with the payment of an extra fee of 100 euros.	30 April 2027 Deadline for enrollment in the open-access master’s degree courses for graduates of the University of Florence in the period December - March.
